Swim Meet 101

Summer league swim meets are approximately 3 hours long from warmup to clean up if a home meet. We expect your swimmers to be there the entire time so that they can cheer on their team mates! Here are some tips for swim meets:

  • Make sure to arrive before warm up and be ready to start warm ups on time. The coaches will start the swimmers off with dryland and then with an organized warm up in the water.
  • Bring a suit, towel(s), goggles, swim cap, team t-shirt, and snacks to keep your athlete going. Some good snacks to have on hand are fruit, veggies and hummus, trail mix, granola bars, etc. The key is to have something with natural sugars, or complex carbohydrates, as to keep your athlete going without crashing.
  • Bring a sharpie. Your athlete may want to write their events on their arm so they can keep track of where they should be and when!
