Our Mission
- Our Mission is to foster a lifelong love for swimming and develop the skills and character of young athletes through a safe, positive, and inclusive team environment
- We have four overarching goals that we work toward at every practice:
- Encourage Personal Growth
- Improve Technique
- Develop Love of the Sport
- Have fun
What You Can Expect from the Coaches
- We will treat all parents, swimmers, volunteers, officiants, and other coaches with respect.
- We will create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all individuals and will not tolerate bullying, abuse, name-calling, and other negative words or actions.
- We will provide quality feedback that builds confidence in the sport, encourages swimmers to work hard, and have a growth mindset.
- We will take a mastery-oriented approach to our goals and coaching. This means that we are working to increase our swimmers competence and confidence by working on skill development and personal self-improvement.
- We will be on time to practice, prepared to have a safe, fun, and engaging workout for the athletes.
- We will communicate with athletes and parents clearly, in order to work together as a parent-athlete-coach team to reach our full potential.

Practice Schedule 2026 Season
- Wednesdays are all-team practices from 7:45-8:45AM
- 11 & over: 6:45-8 am
- 9-10 8-9 am
- 8 & under: 8-8:45 am
- Coaches may suggest changes to a swimmers practice time if they feel that the swimmer may fit better in a different group.
Pick Up and Drop Off Times
- Please be sure your child is at the pool 10 minutes before practice begins so they have time to prepare for their workout. This is a really great time for them to chat with other members of the team and the coaches and get to know each other!
- All swimmers must be picked up within 15 minutes of completing their practice.
- The coaches will not be responsible for any athlete beyond 15 minutes before or after their listed practice times.
Equipment
- We do not require a specific team suit. However, we recommend that swimmers have a one-piece competitive swim suit for girls and jammers or speedos for boys. Suits can be purchased at MI Sports or SwimOutlet.com
- A team swim cap will be provided
- We have kickboards and pullbuoys available for use. Coaches may recommend on a case-by-case basis that your athlete get fins if the coach feels that they would help the swimmer during practice.
- Please bring a set of goggles! This will make practice much easier!
- We start practice with dryland; your swimmer may want shoes that they can run in.
Cost
- You do not need to be a member of the Collindale Pool to participate in swim team!
- Registration for the 2026 season is $200/swimmer. This includes all practices, season meets including City, a t-shirt, and a swim cap. State Meet is an additional cost for those that qualify and attend.
- Refundable volunteer deposit: A separate $75 per family check is required. Your payment will be returned to you at the end of the season if all volunteering points are met.
- Payment is to be made through Zeffy: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/collindale-swim-team--2026
Volunteering
- We require that families complete 2 "points"/swimmer of volunteering. Each volunteer spot in a swim meet is worth 1 point. So, if you have 1 swimmer, you are asked to volunteer at two swim meets, or provide two volunteers for one swim meet.
- Volunteer hours can be completed at our home meets. Jobs include:
- Set up
- Computer
- Starter
- Timers
- Event board
- Heating area
- Some meets ask us to provide volunteer timers. These hours also count toward your hours!
- If all your volunteer hours are completed, you may have your volunteer check returned to you or voided at the end of the season.
